When did 15 year-old girls start ‘granny chic’? Why have we decided that one person’s opinion matters more than anyone else’s?

Tavi Gevinson first shot to fame three years ago, when everyone was all like “who’s this 12 year old fashion maven, and why is she getting VIP entry to Fashion Week events?” Tavi Gevinson is cooler than you. Tavi has also gotten into feminism.

Her new project Rookie Mag is a cross between a magazine and a website.Rookie is getting so much attention from adults, who have their own publications to read already. Supposedly Gevinson has gained popularity with her blog, unique sense of style and talking about the 1990s. Despite her age, Gevinson is a connoisseur of ’90s culture, which she didn’t even experience. Fantastic.

I think this should be required reading for everyone entering the 7th grade. The content and design are cute but not cloying.

I've let that February New York Mag piece on lovebird bloggers, Garance Dore and The Sartorialist, linger... but I always come back for a couple reasons.

I admit, two bloggers with similar mission statements and similar aesthetics that start dating, well, yes, what an adorable concept! But there is something so vapid about these two. From one of their many pathetic quotes:

“I was a big fan,” says Doré. “Sometimes when I was looking at Scott’s pictures, I wanted to be with him. I wanted to be on his shoulder.” Doré looks at Schuman with a bit of a blush. “I don’t know if I ever said that to you. But it’s because of the light.”

Their narcissism, that picture, how he has now just sexualized her style and the usual man shaping a woman are all just disgusting. The truth is, he's in love with changing her image. She's in love with him giving her an image. And together they are in love with themselves. Yuck.

A lot of fashion bloggers are turning into "businesses" these days. Giveaways, promotions, advertising rates and now commissioning models to photograph their overpriced clothing.

Now that Zooey Deschannel copy cat, Liebemarlene, is capitializing on her web traffic, I feel like she has totally lost her touch. Is it me or does she wear the same things everyday? Her model is really..boring, no "je ne sais quoi." Why did she change her lo-fi, one man job blog into a blatant self-promoting, name dropping domain. I really hope other blogger girls don't start to venture into business making, we have enough girls already trying to support their shopping addictions as it is.

What happened to the golden days of blogging? When it wasn't about your photograph plastered all over your website, when you weren't rallying people to buy your items?

So about a couple weeks ago, Fashion Toast, I mean RUMI, bought these amaaaazing leopard-print wedges. When I mean leopard-print, I mean, even the very foundation of the wedges are LEOPARD! Shocking, yes?

She's been wearing them all month long and I have to say I absolutely adore the way she matches them...with...um...beige? A hooker with class! (is Colin her pimp? He seems to take a lot of pictures of her, if you know what I mean.)

Alexander Wang would be pissed to know this hooker is wearing his dress to pick up guys.

But hey you know what we love about Rumi Neely the most (and no, not that she's named after a male poet) : She dresses the same even when she goes grocery shoping! Glam girl! Work it!
